What Are Swing States?
“Swing states” are states that could go either way in the election, electing a Republican or a Democrat. They’ll decide the 2024 Presidential election.
This swing state stuff can get a bit complicated. For example a state might be a swing state for the Presidential election (the two presidential candidates are nearly tied in the polls) but not for the US Senate election (one of the candidates is polling way ahead of the other.)
For PuntTrump.org’s purposes we focus on states that are swing states for the Presidential election or an election to the US Senate. That gives us the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin (as of the end of February 2024; we’ll update this info shortly).
….And yes, since Kamala Harris became the Democratic candidate, this swing state stuff has been changing a lot, generally to make more states turn into swing states that Trump might lose. Yay!
